Programs

This program prepares you to make the transition to secondary education or job preparation classes, it also helps you to meet personal goals. Basic skills include reading and writing, necessary for functioning at levels comparable to students in the third through eighth grades.

Courses may be remedial for students or they may provide educational opportunities for students who speak, but do not read English.

ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES

 The Exceptional Adult Center was established in September of 1973 by parents of students with developmental disabilities.

 The primary purpose is to assist persons with developmental disabilities to become confident, contributing members of society.

 The curriculum is centered on social and everyday basic living skills.

 To be considered for admission to the Exceptional Adult Center, prospective students must be:

*Eighteen (18) years of age or older.

*Have a diagnosis of Developmental Disabilities with Regional Center.

*Be independent in self-care skills.

ADULT SECONDARY EDUCATION

High School Diploma Classes

A competency-based adult high school diploma program that provides an opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma, and enhance academic skills necessary for vocational training.

 

Classes meet 10:00am - 12:00pm, Monday through Thursday

                         5:30pm -  8:30pm,  Monday through Thursday

 

Summer Schedule

Classes meet 10:00am - 12:00pm, Monday through Thursday

                            1:00pm -  4:00pm,  Monday through Thursday

 

Students interested in taking High School Diploma classes must take the CASAS assessment test.  Please, see teacher for testing schedule.

ESL classes are offered to learners for speaking, listening, reading and writing skills at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.

Se ofrecen clases de Inglés como Segundo Idioma para aprender a hablar, escuchar, leer y escribir a nivel de principiante, intermedio y avanzado.

Las personas interesadas en tomar clases de Inglés como Segundo Idioma deben de tomar el exámen de conocimientos CASAS. Por favor vea al maestro para el horario del examen.
